With Bradley Whitford

Why this story needs to be told

It was really exciting to me to talk to conservative Republicans who are really anxious to move towards accepting science and towards accepting the fact of climate change.

Introduction

“West Wing” star Bradley Whitford returns to Washington to explore how to get Republicans in Congress to abandon their party’s ideology of climate change denial and instead commit to actually solve the problem. He tells the story of Jay Butera, of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, who has succeeding in bringing congressmen of both parties together to develop legislative solutions to climate change while avoiding unproductive debates about the science.  Whitford follows Butera on his journey to recruit Republicans to the cause, and along the way learns how to lobby some of them himself.

STORY UPDATE:
The congressmen featured in our story — Rep. Carlos Curbelo, Rep. Lee Zeldin and Rep. Mia Love – were all reelected in the November, 2016 election. Congresswoman Love joined the Climate Solutions Caucus on November 17, 2016.
