Submit a public comment to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline.
President Trump has signed an executive order calling for the completion of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL), but that doesn’t mean the fight is over. The pipeline is still being reviewed by the Army Corps of Engineers, which is currently seeking public comment on how it should evaluate the pipeline’s environmental impact.
A previous assessment of the pipeline didn’t include climate change, so for today’s action, we’re asking you to submit a public comment telling the Army Corps that they should include climate change in their assessment. According to one estimate, as much as 570,000 barrels of oil could flow through the DAPL daily, and would create about as much greenhouse gas pollution per year as 29.5 coal fired power plants or 21.4 million cars.
We still have time to speak out. Send and email or use the button blow to send a form letter, courtesy of the Sierra Club.
